Abstract :
Handheld devices, e.g. smart phones, are widely used in people´s daily life. Using the Bluetooth technology, handheld devices can automatically exchange information with other handheld devices that are in close proximity. This brings an opportunity for disseminating information through the handheld devices. This paper proposes a scheme for effectively disseminating information through the handheld devices. The scheme uses social network analysis to make information reach people who are interested in the information more effectively. An incentive scheme is used to encourage people to deliver information to other people who are interested in the information. The scheme uses the integer programming technique to help the handheld device owners to maximize their incoming through delivering information. Experiments show that the proposed scheme is effective in disseminating information and generating income for handheld device owners.
