Abstract
Log-domain filters with maximized dynamic range are presented in this paper. This is achieved by employing enhanced lossless and lossy integrator blocks, where independent scaling of their input weight factors is performed. It should be mentioned at this point that the maximization of the dynamic range is achieved without losing the benefit of log-domain filters for electronically adjusting their frequency characteristics. The validation of the operation of the proposed blocks has been performed through simulation results in the case of a 3rd-order leapfrog filter.
