Abstract
The emerging concept of P2P networking is being increasingly applied as an overlay solution in many network applications. This paper analyzes the personal networks (PNs) service discovery architecture which relies on the usage of a hybrid overlay P2P solution. The paper proposes overlaying a P2P architecture in PNs by using cross-layer interactions and shows a performance analysis in terms of resource engagement and applicability of various hybrid P2P solutions. The simulation and numerical results show that chained and hash P2P architectures exhibit potentials for implementation in PNs
