Abstract :
A low cost high power transmitter has been made. With this module it is possible to obtain an output power of 22 dBm or 33 dBm, only changing the SSPA block depending on the data transmission speed. In all cases the system will emit and receive in the bands selected by HISPASAT for VSAT networks. The frequency bands correspond to the Fixed Service ofthe HISPASAT Spanish system satellites. However, it is possible to change the frequencies in order to use an alternative satellite. The main objectives in the front-end design are to obtain separate units for reception and transmission and low cost. The design of specific MMICs will be approached in the second phase of the Project. The prototype will be assembled by modules in order to facilitate the planning of tests prior to the development of the integrated version. As far as possible European components have been selected
