Abstract
The capacity of a DS/CDMA system is essentially limited by the performance of the acquisition sub-system; i.e. the maximum number of users that can achieve signal acquisition with a certain degree of reliability. This paper presents a new code acquisition scheme utilizing an FIR adaptive filter that significantly outperforms matched filter based schemes. It is shown that the proposed scheme can achieve the same capacity obtained from the BER criterion
