Abstract :
Power control is one of the key techniques for stable operation in mobile communication systems. A new distributed power control algorithm based on successive over-relaxation method is proposed in this paper under the assumption that the mobile users are stochastically distributed and that there are measurement error in SIR estimation. The newly proposed algorithm which has faster convergence rate is developed by using power levels of both current and previous iterations to update power level. Stimulations are finally carried out to demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has fast convergence rate and better power stability.
