Abstract
It is pointed out that the Ada language has many built-in reliability mechanisms for supporting sophisticated real-time applications. These include: features provided by the language that can be used to make programming more reliable; predefined features that allow the user to built in reliabilities; and a numerical computing environment that increases accuracy and system reliability. Examples and performance constraints are given and discussed
