Abstract
A conceptual design for an integrated information system for an electronic FWF is presented. The conceptual design addresses a number of activities required to manage the factory and defines seven major functional need categories that may be transposed over varying organizational or factory structures. Each of the need categories is addressed from the standpoint of current as-is factory shortcomings, and then presented in the to-be or FWF requirements perspective. The conceptual design for an integrated information system will facilitate production to world-class standards. The information system is a model for a factory working a total quality management (TQM) environment and provides the required information to manage effectively throughout the business enterprise: strategically, tactically, and operationally
