Abstract
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is becoming very popular for a wide range of applications such as identification, tracking of persons, animals or items, localization, collaborative platforms and is considered as the main building block for the realization of the Internet of Things paradigm. However RFID hardware is not widely available in current personal mobile terminals limiting the provision of novel applications and services. In this paper we propose a P2Pframework that targets the inclusion of portable devices with on-RFID capabilities but a wireless interface into RFID networks. In this way, applications and services can be extended to those devices despite their lack of embedded RFID hardware. The system´s architecture is depicted and simulations are performed to evaluate its performance in terms of time response.
