Abstract :
This paper presents development of a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell boat. A hybrid energy system consists of a PEM fuel cell stack and batteries. Such a system is expected to be used in the next generation electric propulsion system with more efficient and zero emission to replace the traditional diesel engine system in the future. The design and test of the fuel cell boat will be discussed in the paper.
