Abstract
In this interactive paper, the matlab function sfsvdrs, for pole assignment in multi-variable linear systems using state feedback, is tested with a single-input benchmark system which is well-known to be very ill-conditioned. 14 sets of closed loop eigenvalues are considered. Computation shows that, while most of the existing pieces of software for pole assignment do not assign these sets of closed-loop eigenvalues to this system, the function sfsvdrs produces some quite good results for assignment of most of these 14 sets of closed loop eigenvalues.
