Abstract :
A miniaturised combined counter and reference electrode is introduced which can be used as a part of a scanning droplet cell for detecting DNA immobilisation on the surface of a gold working electrode by means of a potentiostat. The stability of the reference part of the combined electrode was investigated compared to a saturated calomel electrode. The reference electrode was found stable enough in the first 30 h. The combined electrode was tested in cyclic voltammetric measurements and found suitable for detecting DNA immobilisation on gold surface.
