  • Abstract
A new voltage control method, namely virtual voltage coordinated control, for transformer on-load tap changer and static compensator is presented. This coordinated control methods consists of two major parts, virtual voltage calculation and bad data detection. The nice properties of conventional tap changer control are preserved by keeping the conventional dead band and time delay mechanism. The capacity of static compensator can be reserved by using this coordinated control method while the voltage profile of the load bus is also improved. This new control method is also capable of coping with bad data in the signal channel. Simulation results are illustrated to show benefits of using this new control method in a 10-bus 3-machine system
