Abstract :
This paper highlights the concept of transformerless current injection in a 3-phase thyristor rectifier and discusses its gating signal design issue. This method is based on a set of bi-directional static switches between the dc bus and the ac supply. Correct timing of the switch gating determines the success of the injection technique. Transformerless approach makes the entire topology lightweight and efficient. A microprocessor based controller is introduced and its programming is also highlighted
