Abstract
This paper considers the role that energy storage may play in the evolution of wind generator technologies, and how it is managed in order to mitigate impacts related to power system operations. The management of the energy storage device is discussed along with other potential options for limiting the output power fluctuations. The concepts are demonstrated using one of the most prominent wind turbine generator technologies, together with a two level energy storage system
