Abstract
The aim of this article is brief information about perspectives and futurity of the STEP standard (ISO 10303) in the Czech Republic especially. At present time it is not possible to ignore an important role of international standards in electronic product industry. One of the most important standards in this area is an international ISO 10303 standard also known as a STEP. The term STEP is a short cut for standard for the exchange of product model data. The STEP standard is a very large and powerful standard which is used in the product´s entire life cycle. In our article we briefly describe a present status of usage of the STEP standard in Czech Republic. In the last part of our contribution we will pay attention to present time problems and trends in the STEP evolution.
