Abstract
Corjet is a novel ionographic printing head that uses air assist and an amorphous silicon array to generate a latent charge image that is subsequently developed by conventional means. The Corjet produces a page-width-modulated stream of ions that are deposited on a dielectric overcoated conductive surface to produce a latent charge image. This charge image is then developed in conventional ways with dry or liquid toners. Although similar in application to other ionographic print heads, the Corjet offers significant advantages: it is low in cost, it is long lived and reliable, and it produces a high-quality latent charge image.<>
