Abstract
The efficiency of Dual active bridge (DAB) converter is poor when it works with light load or the input voltage and output voltage are not matching with the transformer ratio. A novel one side single half bridge pulse-width-modulation plus phase-shift (HPPS) switching strategy is proposed in this paper to improve DAB work efficiency. The operation principle is demonstrated, and its power mathematic model is established. Based on this model, a detailed analysis is proceeded which including the ZVS range comparison and the current RMS value comparison with traditional switching strategy (TPS). The validity and feasibility of proposed HPPS control is verified by the simulation results.
