Abstract
The digital filtering and requantization of Gaussian signals quantized to two levels are considered using theoretical and experimental techniques. It is shown that the signal and quantization noise spectral components can be separated and that the signal-to-noise (SNR) ratio is not further degraded. Experimental tests show that digital filtering and requantization do not distort the autocorrelation or the cross-correlation function. It is concluded that the results presented here provide a powerful technique which can be used in the real-time digital processing of noise-like signals with Gaussian amplitude probability statistics
