Abstract
This paper is a survey of insurance options for the deregulated energy market. Decision makers and engineers in the energy sector have a need for risk management and require up-to-date information of available risk transfer options from the insurance industry. This paper is summarising the risks energy companies are facing and what cover is available. It also outlines some options that risk managers have, how deregulation is affecting the insurance industry and how new energy technologies are impacting the insurance market
