Abstract :
An overview is presented of international government-support cooperative research and development programs on microelectronics. This overview consists of a description of the following major programs: (1) MEGA; (2) ESPRIT; (3) EUREKA; and (4) JESSI. ESPRIT and JESSI are dealt with in greater detail. The objectives and structure, characteristics, equipment and materials, and applications of each of these programs are outlined
