Abstract
The Tibetan part of National Highway 214 is located in South-eastern part of Tibet. Geological hazards such as landslides, debris flows and rock-falls happen frequently in the neighborhood of this highway and cause great damages to peoples´ life and properties. How to make clear the geological structure is important to design and maintain of national highway 214. In this paper, the Landsat ETM data, combined with the historical data and the investigation of field were applied to study the landslides, debris flows and rock-falls of the Tibetan part of National Highway 214 by image geometry correction, image enhancement and spatial analysis. According to the results, there are 76 places of rock-falls, 101 places of debris flows and 26 places of landslides along the highway. The developing state and harm characteristics of these geological hazards have been evaluated.
