Abstract :
To analyze the fatigue life of a fifth wheel saddle body, we established the three dimensional model of the saddle body by CATIA software, and imported it into ANSYS software, and modified to the FEM model, and meshing it. By researching relevant information we rendered the material simplified S-N curve. Considering a variety of factors of influencing the fatigue strength, we amended the material S-N curve. Finally, we analyzed the fatigue life of the saddle body and found the saddle body positions that easily take place fatigue damage. The positions are at the connection region of the second beam and transfer force parts. The region should be sufficient attention in the development process.
