Abstract
The input impedance and the radiation pattern of the stacked cylindrically conformal microstrip patch antenna element with capacitance compensation probe feed and the mutual coupling effect between two elements of this kind are calculated by using a novel hybrid method that combines the conformal FDTD method and the Green´s functions for cylindrically stratified media. Numerical results demonstrate that about 29% or more impedance bandwidth can be achieved when VSWR/spl les/2.0 by using this structure.
