Abstract :
A loop antenna printed on a dielectric substrate backed by a conducting plane, where the conducting plane and substrate are of finite extent is analyzed in this paper. The loop antenna has a printed sleeve of width w/sub slv/ and is excited through an electromagnetically coupled strip line. The radiation characteristics, taking into account the finite sizes of the substrate and the reflector also is studied in this paper. The author used finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method with Liao´s second order absorbing boundary condition for the analysis of the strip loop antenna.
