Abstract :
Traditional multiplierless digital filter design techniques try to solve the Multiple Constant Multiplication (MCM) problem by implementing the coefficients of the transfer function using multiplier blocks. However, these methods are based on defined circuit architectures, such as the direct or the transposed form, to implement the rest of the filter. This paper introduces an innovative process that simultaneously designs multiplierless low complexity digital filters and optimizes their global structure. Performance of the proposed algorithm is validated by comparing its accuracy to current methods when designing 1000 IIR filters.
