Abstract
Top surface chemistry of three nonlinear optical borates, LiB3O5, CsB3O5, beta-BaB2O4, have been studied with XPS and RHEED. A dependence of electronic parameters of B-O bonds in anhydrous borates on mean chemical bond length B-O is found.
