Abstract
In recent years, a series of novel gyrotrons operating in the sub-terahertz frequency range have been developed at the FIR FU Research center. They are used as powerful radiation sources for various traditional and emerging applications. In this paper we present briefly the current status of our simulation tools (physical models and numerical codes) used for analysis, computer-aided design (CAD) and optimization of such tubes and discuss some of their most characteristic features.
