Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a UWB antenna operating from 2.45GHz to 11.6GHz. This antenna is a combination of two antenna elements which are connected in a way inspired by the log-periodic antenna array technique. To reduce the total size of proposed antenna, compact metamaterial based antennas are employed as the basic radiating elements. To verify our design concept, a prototype antenna is designed on FR4 substrate, which exhibits good radiation over the entire designed frequency range from 2.45GHz to 11.6GHz.
