Abstract :
With the development of electric power systems, conventional PID excitation controller has been unable to meet the requirements of dynamic and static operating performance of system, in order to overcome this shortcoming, a new type of fuzzy PID controller is designed and an optimized fuzzy controller adopting genetic algorithm is put forward based on the conventional fuzzy PID excitation controller. Automatic excitation system of synchronous generator as well as the structures and principles and functions of fuzzy PID controller are introduced in this paper. Simulation results show that the excitation controller designed by this method has better dynamic and static characteristics.
