Abstract :
It is argued that, instead of being a means if not an end in itself, mathematics has become a barrier for further education. It is suggested that there should be a serious effort of motivation in mathematics on different levels. It is concluded that one should go back to the educational process and think deeply about diagnosis and assessment, and the revitalization of instructional traditions
