Abstract :
This paper presents the collective experiences of four professors who have collaborated to develop and deliver online business courses. They suggest that at least part of the successful online classroom is based on the degree to which the faculty member performs as team leader in creating an online educational team. They offer the following six guidelines to trainers or faculty thinking about making the trip to cyberspace: maintain a small class size; employ strategies so students will get to know one another; use informality and humor; concentrate on asynchronous activities; intersperse synchronous activity to keep the team energized; and require constant interactivity regarding student assignments and communication
