Title :
I have a little list: the ten indispensables [technical communication]

Abstract :
Even in this high-tech, fast-paced multimedia world the simple list is still one of the most useful tools for the technical communicator. It may be as basic as a sticky note or as elaborate as a task list for building a rocket, but the concept is the same. Each list provides the answer to a question, and should solve some problem or make life easier for you. I first explore when and how to develop a list. Then, using ten of the most common types as examples, I show what problem each list solves or what question it answers. The presentation adds details about these and uses examples from the audience to work through an exercise to develop customized lists for specific situations
