Abstract
The authors describe the conception and design of transistorized generators for induction heating applications with parallel compensation of the heating inductor. They describe different topologies according to the power ranges as well as the inverter control strategy. The developed generators are designed to replace, in many applications, motor generators and those manufactured using electron tube and thyristor technology. These transistorized generators have power ranges between 3 and 600 kW and frequencies varying from 4 to 200 kHz
