Abstract
There are a large number of applications of various DC-DC converters and their usage are increasing alarmingly due to the consciousness of the world towards renewable sources of energy. This paper has made an attempt to design and implement the controlled Boost type DC-DC converter. The converter, inverter and control circuits are modelled and simulated with simple and basic analog circuitries. The converter system converts 36V DC to 230V sinusoidal AC. The control circuit uses Sliding Mode control , used as a ´Voltage Regulator´ in this work. This paper presents the simulation results in PSIM(Version 6.0).PSIM provides a good platform for simulation due to its user-friendliness, accurate results and graphs and facilitation of a large number of circuit components. The details about the modelling of power circuit and control circuits are thoroughly presented.
