  • Abstract
An analytical procedure based on capillary GC-MS was developed for the quantification and characterization of 2, 4-dimethylaniline and amitraz in fish muscle. It contained an n-hexane/methanol extraction step using accelerated solvent extraction (ASE), and a selected ion monitoring (SIM) detection system of capillary GC-MS. The ASE parameters were optimized (P = 120 bar, T = 60°C) and GC-MS condition was validated after the mass fragments selection for 2, 4-dimethylaniline and amitraz quantification in fish muscle. The detection limits for these two analytes were 2 and 5 μg/kg, respectively. The recoveries at the spiked levels from 5 to 20 μg/kg ranged from 71% to 102%.
