Abstract :
A direct model reference adaptive control based on a reduced-order model for a large space structure is obtained. The hyperstability theory is used for stability analysis. This approach provides greater flexibility in choosing adaptive laws and avoids the shortcomings of Lyapunov´s method. For improving the sensor and actuator noncollocated problem, the almost strict positive realness condition is established. The design and test of an adaptive controller are discussed
