Abstract :
A method of multi-source SST conformance evaluation is presented in this paper, which is not only valuable for significant areas lack of site measurement but also multi-satellite remote sensing. Consensus evaluation among multi-source data is the only way to get the credibility without field measurement. A Weighted Joint Probability Distribution (WJPD) can quantify the degree of consensus among multi-source SST data. In addition to the virtue that flexible regulation can be realized to distinguish different types of conflicts, WJPD can detect false alarms and serious conflicts that can´t be found by other methods. WJPD is used to process SST data from eleven sensors in the coastal areas of east China in 2006. Therefore, this paper confirms a large number of highly consistent points, identifies failure data, and finds controversial areas which deserve further research.
