Abstract
In this paper an efficient technique to solve optimal power flow problem considering both real and reactive sub-problems is proposed. The real power sub-problem is the traditional economic dispatch. The reactive power sub-problem is treated as real power transmission loss minimization problem. Particle swarm optimization method is used for solving the nonlinear optimization problems. While minimizing the objectives voltage stability margin is also maintained. Simulation results for IEEE 30 bus, 57 bus and 118 bus networks are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method
