Abstract :
In this paper we present a method for automatically producing ITC´s for the Baltic Sea. This approach utilizes two major data sources, i.e. the ice growth calculated by a thermodynamic sea ice model and the spatial distribution of different ice thickness classes produced by a SAR classification algorithm. We only utilize the modeled thermodynamic ice growth, the effect of sea ice dynamics is currently not taken into account. The proposed ITC represents the level ice thickness accordingly.
