  • Abstract
The method of the data collection is designed for description of the turbulent flow features in the shallow sea coastal areas. It includes the determination of the three-component velocity fluctuations, the local vertical velocity shear and the local hydrological conditions. The set of the equipment is combined for such measurements including the ADCP 300 BB-DR device, the three-components electromagnetic turbulent currentmeter installed on the buoyant body and standard CTD probe. The measurements were made from the anchoring ship in the different areas of the eastern Gulf of Finland. The special local conditions were selected: jet flow, wind stress drift flow, stagnation zone. The detail statistical analysis of the vertical average flow profiles and of the vertical velocity fluctuations profiles demonstrated the processes good fitted by the turbulent flows. The considerable vertical inhomogenity of the water temperature and salinity suppose the vertical transfer processes. In particular turbulent vertical heat flux in the jet flow demonstrates the variability of the flux direction through the water depth
