Abstract :
Discussion and development of protocols for a nodal market has been underway in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) region since the summer of 2003. From September 2003 through Summer 2005, ERCOT Market Participants drafted a set of nodal protocols. ERCOT filed these protocols, and updates, on behalf of Market Participants in March 2005, and September 2005, respectively. This presentation highlight the locational marginal price market structure, with a particular emphasis on elements that are unique to ERCOT, as set forth in the nodal protocols that will be implemented in the ERCOT market on January 1, 2009
