Abstract
The unit maintenance scheduling problem in open power systems is quite different from that in traditional centralized power systems. In this paper, based on the analysis of the new characteristics of unit maintenance scheduling activities in an open environment, a new optimization mathematical model with multiple optimization components is proposed for the unit maintenance scheduling problem in open systems. A figurative and efficient genetic algorithm with overlapped and discontinuous genetic building blocks is specially designed to solve the problem considered. Simulation results have shown the correctness of the new mathematical model and the effectiveness of the new genetic algorithm
