Abstract :
In this article we motivate the ongoing changes in our economy due to digitalization of enterprises and the changes in workforce. The evolution and growth of digital and mobile technologies has radically changed the way we work. The success of agile software development can be seen as a forerunner of an economic transformation that results in purpose-driven organisations, the sharing economy and the collaborative commons. In such a setting, it is of uttermost importance to listen to the needs of employees and to create a working environment that helps them to thrive. The app effect - well known from the consumer market - has finally reached the enterprise.
