Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. A one-dimensional, Lagrangian magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) code (RAVEN) has been run in parallel with itself to model a coaxial flux-compression generator (FCG). The FCG, which is two-dimensional in character, was modeled by taking slices perpendicular to the axis. The slices were calculated simultaneously as separate, one-dimensional MHD modules which were coupled through the circuit equations in RAVEN. The model shows interesting results concerning the different efficiencies of different segments of the FCG. Because of the inherent one-dimensional character of each module, end effects must be taken into account separately. They can, however, be approximately modeled by adding an additional resistance into the RAVEN circuit
