Abstract :
Safe landing of the detector is the key of lunar exploration and the complexity of the lunar surface terrain is the main influential factor for safe landing of lunar detector. Therefore, the study of landing area selection is very important in engineering. Firstly, the distribution of craters and rocks of the lunar surface is summed up and then the lunar surface landform of landing area and alternative landing area are simulated. Secondly, three indicators of landing risk assessment for landing area, including the density of the distribution, the number and the area of obstacles, are proposed, and the computational method for each indicator is also presented. Furthermore, the scheduled landing area can be selected according to the evaluation of these three indicators. Finally, an example is given, which shows that the method can meet the requirements of lunar landing engineering and its computation is simple and easy.
