Abstract :
In electrical systems, one of the main factors that limits the energy transport is the temperature of the conductor. Knowing the transmission system, its lines, the critical sections and the climate of the region where they are located, the real temperature of the conductor can be calculated, providing, in determined conditions, an increase of the transmission capacity, without compromising the operational security. Since on the project of the transmission line, its capacity is based on very conservative estimates, an overloaded line could cause at some moments, an unnecessary alteration in the dispatch of the generators and in other controls of the system. Making na hourly forecast of the real transmission capacity and using the favorable periods to make the economic dispatch, a significant economy in the generation cost, without violating of the maximum temperature of the transmission line, can be gotten
