Problems in the process of machining hi-Cr white cast iron slurry pump were analyzed. The overall PCBN(Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride) cutting tools were selected to cut impeller and sheath of slurry pump at high speed. The flank wear and cutting performance of ceramic cutting tools and PCBN cutting tools in process of high-speed cutting hi-chromium white cast iron Cr26 were comparative studied. Examples justified overall PCBN cutting tools possess the excellent performance of increasing cutter lifetime and cutting efficiency.
