  • Abstract
The snowpack parameters are important to climatological and hydrological investigations. Using data acquired with the Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) over the Oetztal Alps and Wapta, the authors derived snow particle size maps from TM band-4. The information with temporal and spatial variations in snow properties will prove our understanding of the processes of natural snowpacks and provide the quantitative measurements for climatological and hydrological studies
