Abstract :
A high-voltage power supply suitable to feed a pulsed laser is developed. The power circuit is a series resonant converter parallel loaded, working at the resonant frequency. The voltage source inverter that feeds the resonant circuit is soft-commutated. The switching frequency is limited to a few kHz by the response of the high-voltage rectifiers. Experimental results on a 1 kV/250 W prototype are presented in order to verify the converter behavior. Design procedure, simulation and results are presented
